On October 5th, 2023, at the Train Station in the Haymarket in Lincoln, Dr. Vern Fisher, Superintendent of Gibbon Public Schools, was inducted into the Lincoln Southeast Athletic Hall of Fame.
Vern Fisher was a dual sport athlete at Lincoln Southeast High School. He was a strong presence on the gridiron and played on the 1977 State Championship Teams. Fisher was also a member of the Knight's Basketball team. He graduated from LSE HS in 1978. From LSE, Fisher went on to play football for both UNO and Midland.
