Gibbon Nation,
On Tuesday, May 7th, the school district will conduct an EVACUATION DRILL that will involve every student and every staff member.
The goal of this drill is to be better prepared in the event of an emergency. The drill is an opportunity to train our staff and our students to appropriately respond to a crisis we hope and pray does not happen in our community. The information collected through this drill will help us improve upon existing practices and protocols.
The drill is scheduled to begin approximately at 8:30 a.m. and the drill should be completed by 10:30 a.m.
We will follow these procedures on May 7th -
The school will move into a "LOCK DOWN" at 8:30 a.m.
Members of the administrative team will move from classroom to classroom to release students and staff. This will be a controlled release.
Students and staff will participate in the process of evacuating the building.
Students and staff will move back into the building and resume normal instruction immediately upon the completion of the drill.
For the safety of students and staff, we are asking that parents and members of the community refrain from coming on campus until after the drill is completed.
Thank You.
