The cast and crew of this year's one act play production, titled The Knight, The Bard and the Dragon, have been very busy in the last few weeks. The competitive season began on November 9th with the York K-dub Invitational. Several students, including seniors Keagan Pickel, Nolan Miller, Amelia Gearhart, Brooklyn Slone, Nathan Stoetzel, and Samantha Weeder as well as sophomore, Ivy Noller received Outstanding Performer Awards. Gibbon placed 4th overall. Other performances include the Gothenburg Invitational on the 19th (placing 5th) and the Minden Play Production Rumble (on the 23rd) placing 5th overall. At Minden, we also received recognition for Best Costumes/Hair and Best Tech. Keagan Pickel received special recognition as the Best Actor for our Division (out of all 7 plays that performed.) At the Lou-Platte Conference Tournament, against a wonderful group of competitors, Gibbon placed 3rd. Samantha Weeder, the Dragon, Nathan Stoetzel, as Reginald the Herald, Keagan Pickel, the Bard, and Nolan Miller, as the Friar also received acting awards.
Tomorrow, Tuesday Nov. 26th, the elementary students get to enjoy the production, and next Tuesday, Dec. 3rd, it will be shared with the high school. All of the hard work will be put to a test against a strong C1-6 District Competition in Bridgeport on Dec. 4th.
