The Gibbon Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter has successfully partnered with the Gibbon Heritage Museum to create a comprehensive database cataloging the trophies and plaques from Gibbon High School. This initiative aimed to preserve the rich history of academic and athletic achievements showcased at the museum.
Given the extensive collection of awards, the museum decided to digitize records of each artifact. This approach ensures that the historical significance of these accomplishments is maintained while allowing for thoughtful consideration of the future of the physical artifacts.
The database project started in November 2024 and has recently been completed. Throughout the process, FBLA members utilized their computer skills, gaining valuable experience in data management and historical preservation. Additionally, they had the unique opportunity to explore the accomplishments of Gibbon High School teams, dating back to as far back as 1936.
The Gibbon FBLA extends its gratitude to the Gibbon Heritage Museum for the collaboration and the chance to contribute to preserving the community's heritage.
