More than sixty students from 1st-12th grade have been working hard over the last few months on this fabulous classic musical. The Wizard of Oz, based on the book by L. Frank Baum from the 1900's follows young Dorothy Gale as she leaves Kansas and arrives in the "Merry Old Land of Oz". As she "follows the yellow brick road", she encounters a whole troop of classic characters from the loveable Munchkins, to the lively Scarecrow, the energetic Tinman and cowardly Lion. You'll recognize several pop-culture icons from this show including the red ruby slippers and songs like "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." While the musical follows the 1939 movie it also includes additional material- including a song- eliminated in the remastering of the film.
