If you, or your child, received special education services in Gibbon Public Schools ending in the years 2015, 2016, or 2017.
In accordance with Nebraska State Department of Education Rule 51, we have:
Retained special education records for five (5) years after completion of activities for which special education funds were used;
Collected and maintained personally identifiable information for educational purposes;
The information which is no longer necessary to provide education services to the child and will be destroyed.
A school district is required to keep permanent records of each student’s name, address, phone number, his or her grades, attendance records, classes attended, grade level completion and year completed. It is not required to keep special education records after 5 years.
You are welcome to review the special education records and, if you choose to obtain copies of this information at the Special Education Office at Gibbon Public Schools before they are destroyed. Please contact Barb Gentrup by Tuesday, April 4, 2023. Records will be destroyed on Wednesday, April 5, 2023.

17 Gibbon students attended the 20th Annual Nebraska Cultural Unity Conference and learned about diversity, inclusion & opportunities available at UNK. Pepe Serna was the keynote speaker. It was a GREAT day!

Gibbon Nation! The date for April's regular board meeting has been moved from Tuesday, April 11th to Thursday, April 13th. The meeting on the 13th will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Distance Learning Classroom located on the secondary side of the building. @gpsbuffs #WeAreGibbon
VARSITY TRACK POSTPONED - The varsity track meet @ Kenesaw that had been moved to Thursday 3/30/23 has been postponed again. The date is 4/24. The start time is TBA.
GOLF THURSDAY 3/30/23 POSTPONED - The golf meet scheduled for Thursday 3/30/23 hosted by Amherst has been postponed. They are working on another date.
7th and 8th Grade Girls had an amazing day at the Latina Youth Leadership Conference at UNK!! We even met up with a Gibbon alumni!!!

SOCCER GAMES CANCELED - 3/28/23 - The soccer games scheduled for today in Hastings have been cancelled. There is no other information at this time.
YOUTH WRESTLING PRACTICE CANCELED TUESDAY 3/28/23 & THURSDAY 3/30/23 - Singlet turn-in will be posted on the Gibbon Wrestling Club page.
SOCCER GAMES LOCATION & TIME CHANGE - The soccer games scheduled to be played in Kearney on Tuesday 3/28/23 have been moved to Hastings High School due to snow in Kearney. The boys and girls games will be played simultaneously at 5pm.
VARSITY TRACK @ KENESAW POSTPONED - The varsity track meet scheduled for Tuesday 3/28/23 has been postponed to Thursday 3/30/23. The start time will stay the same - 11:00am.
Opening Night was a success! There is still time to join our cast and crew for a few laughs! See a performance of this wonderful, classic show- Arsenic and Old Lace- Saturday at 7p.m., or Sunday at 2 p.m. Adults $3, Students $2.
The Gibbon High School Quiz Bowl team ends the day with a 3rd place finish at Districts (there were 30 teams to start the day)! Way to go Buffs, a job well done!
After falling in a close match against Kearney Catholic, Gibbon defeats Centura and advances to the finals at the District Quiz Bowl competition. Go Buffs!
