The boys soccer team came home with a huge OT win against North Platte last night!
Thanks to our participation in the Nebraska Theatre Academy- through Omaha Performing Arts- Gibbon students have had some amazing theatre experiences in the last week. First, students were able to get feedback from theatre experts on our production of Wizard of Oz. On April 8th, 15 students were able to visit the Orpheum theatre & Holland center for a tour and a hands-on workshop with IATSE members. Students learned about several backstage careers in the areas of lighting, sound, rigging, and stage management. Finally, after sending in an audition video several weeks ago, Brooklyn Slone was "called back" for the second round auditions to represent Nebraska at the Jimmy Awards (A national musical theatre competition similar to the Tony awards but for high school students.) It has truly been an exciting week!
The 2025 FBLA State Leadership Conference is in the books for Gibbon FBLA. HALYX Dorsey is our National Qualifier and State Champion in ML-Exploring Computer Science & ML-Exploring Digital Citizenship for Middle School and 3rd place in ML-Exploring Financial Literacy Forde Holl earned Who's Who in NE FBLA, Honorable Mention in Healthcare Administration, & All-State Quality Member. Reuben Reyes, Briahna Brehm & Ximena Urbina also earned All-State Quality Member. Business Achievement Awards: Korbyn Smallcomb, Abbie Miller, Reuben Reyes, Ximena Urbina, Ivy Noller, Andrea Montanez, Sofia Gaona, Piper Gonzalez, Daniela Rodriguez, & Cristina Corona. Chapter Awards: Gold Seal of Merit, Dream Team Award & Sweepstakes Award. Ribbon Projects: March of Dimes, Feed Nebraska, Connect to Business, Go Green, Foundation Trust, NSBEA/NBEA, Spark Your Legacy, and StepUp2Tech. Mrs. Stroh received recognition of six years on the Nebraska FBLA Board of Directors. Gareth Stroh, Gibbon Alumni, was a seminar speaker. Bob Krier received the Businessperson of the Year as a Gibbon FBLA partner with Hamilton Telecommunications. Ryan Samuelson also received recognition as an FBLA Advisory Council member and the National Businessperson of the Year.

First day at 2025 FBLA State Leadership Conference was a great success! Our chapter earned the Manager Level Dream Team. Mrs. Stroh was recognized for her service of 6 years on the Nebraska FBLA Board of Directors and four members earned the All-State Quality Member award. Gibbon Alumni, Gareth Stroh & Ryan Samuelson continuing to represent FBLA as a seminar speaker from Hudl and on the State FBLA Advisory Board & National Businessperson of the Year respectively. What a week at the NEBRASKA STATE FFA CONVENTION💙💛
We packed it all in- keynote speakers, college and career exploration, leadership workshops, East Campus walks, good food, and great memories! Here is just a glimpse into some activities:
- Met state and national officers
-attended state sessions
- Showed off our skills in both LDEs and CDEs
- competed in Natural Resources-Biotechnology- Food Science
- Food science placed 9th overall and Amelia earned a blue ribbon🏆
- Bailey brought home a bronze medal in Ag literacy speaking🥉
- Ivy earned a silver medal in creed speaking🥈
So proud of these Buffs for representing Gibbon FFA with class, courage, and commitment!
